Soup Diet Tips for You
Lots of us have been on diets at least once in our lives. Soup is a good way to incorporate the nutrients you need and stay healthy while you are dieting. Here are a few good soup diet tips for you that will help reduce the fat in lots of soups.
A fabulous way to remove fat from a hot soup that you've just made, is to float a large leaf of lettuce on the surface of the soup. The fat adheres to the lettuce, you simply remove the lettuce leaf and you've removed a lot of the fat! Is that amazing or what?
And here's another great fat-eliminating tip for soup lovers on a diet. Simply, drop ice cubes into the pot of soup. As you stir, watch the fat cling to those ice cubes. Scoop out the cubes quickly, and throw them away - before they melt and disperse the fat again.
If you're like me and like to get things done ahead of time, well then, I've got a great tip for you. When making your homemade soup a day early, chill it and store. Then take it out and scrape off the fat that has risen to the top. However, if you are also like me and have fallen behind and don't have time to chill the soup, simply use a paper towel (unprinted is best) to soak up the oil from the surface of the soup. Chilling it ahead of time works better, but this solution will do in pinch.
